What is Teething?
When a child’s baby teeth begin to emerge, between 3 – 12 months, they begin the teething process. The earlier your child visits the dentist, the more comfortable they’ll become with dental appointments and oral hygiene techniques at home.
Their Dental Checkups
The most important part of routine checkups is getting your child comfortable with the dentist. Tanty Family Dental recommends bringing your child in for their first checkup by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth emerging. Children are more susceptible to cavities, and should visit us at least once every six months.
Once your child’s baby teeth start to emerge fully, we may recommend gentle teeth cleanings, polishing, and removing plaque, tartar, or stain buildup. We will also help teach your child how to maintain good oral hygiene, including brushing and flossing techniques.
